Skills covered include webbing, springing, stuffing, stitching, and basic wood revival. Tools and discounted materials are available whilst on our courses. We also love to offer fabric guidance to help you complete your project. Classes run in line with school terms, with one scheduled break.

Full Description
You will be part of a small friendly class, suitable for both beginners and more experienced upholstery enthusiasts wanting to extend their technical knowledge. Bring along a treasured piece of furniture or a fantastic find that you’re wanting to bring back to life.
Our Friday classes run for 10 weeks:
- morning class 9.30-12.30
- afternoon class 13.30-16.30
Starter project could be; a drop in seat, sprung dining chair or small footstool.
You can learn both modern upholstery (foam), or the skills used since the middle ages, using all traditional materials including coil springs, coir fibre, hessian, cotton wadding and calico.
You’re welcome to bring along your choice of upholstery fabric or choose from our vast range of amazing fabrics curated from the top manufacturers in the country. We love to help inspire and guide on the design choices of fabrics and trims available. If you require top fabric please give us a call to arrange an appointment at least 2 weeks prior to the course.
Some of the skills you will be learning could include:
- Webbing
- Springing
- Traditional Stuffing and Stitching
- Modern materials and their uses
- Corner cuts and folds
- Basic wood revival techniques
Our classes are a great opportunity to grab some time to yourself, and learn upholstery, leisurely
- Tool hire included.
- Upholstery materials and fabric are supplied at student discount rate.
- Bring along your ‘level appropriate’ project, please send us a photo and we can help manage expectations.
- All projects must be able to fit on a work bench 90x90cm
