QUALIFICATIONS
Wells and White directors, Jade Peel and Amber Judges, are AMUSF qualified.
PUBLIC LIABILITY
Wells and White carries insurances which it considers appropriate to the nature of its business.
ENROLMENT
Everyone aged 18 and over can enrol. There are no prerequisites; however, Wells and White offers courses to
students who have a keen interest in upholstery. Our course is suitable for beginners and those with some
previous knowledge who wish to extend their understanding.
Wells and White’s courses are intended to give the student knowledge, understanding, and experience of the
subject in question. Given the leisure nature of our course, Wells and White only offers upholstery skills
guidance for their chosen project and, as such, does not guarantee that students will reach any particular
standard.
OTHER COSTS: TOOLS & MATERIALS
In addition, students will need to supply furniture and fabrics to complete the required elements of any particular course, together with any additional tools and materials required. Materials used in the student’s own pieces of work will be charged for on completion (see the current price list posted in the workrooms); therefore, students are required to keep accurate records of all materials used. Work which has not been paid for may not be removed from the building and may be sold to recoup expenditure on materials.
STORAGE OF FURNITURE
All students are required to transport their pieces of furniture to and from class unless prior agreement is made and space is available; this may incur a storage cost.
COPYRIGHT
All handouts and any videos recorded are not to be copied or shared in any medium to the public or on any social media platform. Wells and White reserves the right to photograph students and their work and use; please advise Wells and White if you do not wish to participate.
HEALTH & SAFETY
- Students should follow all health and safety procedures and requirements to safeguard themselves and others around them. On commencing the course, all health and safety instructions shall be given by Wells and White and posted in the workshop.
- Students should be aware that these courses require an element of lifting, carrying, bending, and standing.
- Students are responsible for ensuring all their own belongings, materials, tools, and equipment are fit for purpose and do so at their own risk. Wells and White holds no responsibility.
